Bridging Borders: Connecting UK Doctors with Canadian Clinics
UK Doctors in Canada was born from a simple question: How can we be part of the solution to Canada’s access to healthcare problem? The answer was, of course, more doctors. The next and obvious question: from where? Even if our medical schools were to add many more spaces, increasing the number of family doctors would take at least 6 years – and that’s assuming all of them chose to practice family or primary care medicine.
So we decided to look outside the box – our country, rather. The Canadian government has made it easier for physicians licensed in The UK, Ireland, Australia and the US to practice medicine here in Canada, as long as they are sponsored by a medical clinic.
With a population that is both aging and growing, changing the demand isn’t possible. Therefore, we adjust the supply.
Ours is a straightforward mission: to help UK-licensed doctors relocate to Canada by connecting them with clinics that need physicians and are opening to sponsor them.
We are not foreign worker recruiters. Instead, we identify as a connection and relocation service – we work with you, and for you. By connecting clinics and physicians and facilitating the sponsorship process, as well as assisting the doctors with their relocation needs, we ensure that patients can get the care they deserve, clinics have the staff they require, and UK doctors have the opportunities in Canada that they seek.
We’ve been asked by doctors and clinics alike, “Why do I need your services? Why can’t I do this all myself?”
The answer is simple: We offer comprehensive and personalized service to both the clinic and the doctor. This includes everything from needs analysis to interview coaching, as well as facilitating the legal and immigration process. Moreover, we provide relocation and onboarding support for UK doctors moving to Canada, making the emigration process just a little bit easier.
Less work. Less stress. More success.
Currently, UK Doctors in Canada is working with clinics in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Expansion across Ontario is planned for later in 2025.
About Mara
Mara Rubinoff is an experienced and dedicated Recruiter, Life Transitions Coach, corporate trainer, and mindfulness teacher. Her greatest strengths are her people and communication skills – this curiosity and need to ‘know more’ has led to productive results throughout her career. She brings a client-focused approach to her work, and a passion for connecting people and building honest and long-lasting relationships.
During a difficult life transition of her own, a good friend suggested she read Don Miguel Ruiz’s “The Four Agreements”. From that moment on, those four simple – yet profound – promises to herself have formed the foundation for her core values of integrity, self-awareness, personal growth, an open-mind, and always… viewing the world with wide-eyed wonder.
When she’s not serving others through her work and volunteering, Mara practices yoga daily, plays Pickleball, reads, cooks, spends quality time in the fresh air, and hangs with her people (and canine friends).
